Are you 21 or older and still have a passion for crafting the perfect derby car? Or maybe you've got your old Cub Scout car collecting dust, waiting for one more chance to shine? Well, we’ve got just the event for you!

The PINT-wood Derby Race is your opportunity to relive the excitement and creativity of the Pinewood Derby—with a twist! Enjoy a night of friendly competition, great company, and, of course, delicious beer.

RULES:

These rules are in place to protect the track, race timers and sensors plus allow all participants to race and have fun!

  • Maximum length shall not exceed 7-inches.
  • Maximum width (including wheels and axles) shall not exceed 2-3/4-inches.
  • Maximum height shall not exceed 5-inches (measured from bottom of wheels).
  • Minimum clearance between the bottom of car and bottom of wheels when placed on a flat surface shall be NO LESS than 3/8-inch (weights attached to the bottom of the car may not pass inspection).
  • Minimum width between the inside surfaces of the wheels shall be 1-3/4-inches so the car will clear the center track guide.
  • NO mechanical propulsion allowed (no motors, fans, dead-blow weights, etc).
  • NO weight restrictions, cars can weigh more or less than a standard 5oz. Pinewood Derby Car
  • Must use standard Pinewood Derby wheels and axles (the ones that come in the box!)
  • Only lubricant allowed is powdered graphite.
  • Do not feel obligated to use the standard derby block of wood – be creative! We want each car to exemplify the industry, group, or organization sponsoring it. Why not consider using materials that are representative of what you do? Be creative and imagine the possibilities that could involve molding clay, recyclable materials, electronics, composite materials, and/or other alloys.
