The Gateway Area Council offers many fun, outdoor activities for Scouts of all ages and ranks, from a beginner kindergarten Cub Scout to a Boy Scout about to earn his Eagle.

A one day event at various locations during June, July and August. Each day camp offers activities organized around a central theme; Cub Scouts participate and have fun! Some of the activities that may be at the Cub Scout Day Camp are bb gun, archery, sling shot, crafts, games and many more.
A four day, three night resident camp for Cub Scouts that will be a Tiger Scout, Wolf, Bear, or Webelo in the fall. Each group will work on rank advancements specific to their rank while having fun and enjoying everything that Camp Decorah has to offer. All meals are provided for this very affordable event that will be led by our Camp Decorah staff.
This week-long camp is held at the majestic Camp Decorah during the summer where members of Scouts BSA can work on advancement or merit badges. We have great programs for everyone, whether a first year Scout or an older Scout that is looking for something different.
First year Scouts can participate in our Brown Sea program, while other members of their Troop can work on merit badges in the many areas that Camp Decorah has. For the Scout that is at least 14 years of age, we have the Peak of Adventure!
During their 7 day 6 night stay at Camp Decorah, scouts can participate in events at our Shooting Range, Climbing Tower, Zip Line, C.O.P.E. course, pool, waterfront, handicraft, or outdoor skills areas. All of these activities are led by high-energy, trained Camp Decorah staff.
Every October, Camp Decorah is transformed from a pleasant camping facility to a place that is taken over by zombies, ghosts, goblins, and many other creatures of the night. The night starts with some great activities such as inflatables, haunted hay ride, spooky stories, haunted house, carnival games and much more. In the morning you are treated to a hot pancake breakfast followed by a costume contest, bb gun, archery, and fun field games. Come one, come all to the annual Spook O Ree.
Open for Scouts of all ages during the La Crosse Logger Season. Enjoy a great baseball game and camp out in the outfield and enjoy a movie on the big screeen. Wake in the morning with a breakfast and a baseball clinic with the Loggers’ players!
A great event for Cub Scouts to enjoy the winter outdoors. Scouts will have great cold weather activities, winter sports, and fun in the snow! Bring your sled, mittens, winter clothing and enjoy the winter outdoors. Bring a can of non cream soup for the commissioners soup and a can of soup for a local food pantry.
Kick off Spring by getting into the outdoors at the Spring Camporee. Get to enjoy the many great activities that Camp Decorah has to offer. Start out Friday night by enjoying s'mores and telling stories around the campfire. Wake up in the morning and start your eventful day off with a hot breakfast and then get to enjoy the many areas of Camp Decorah like the shooting range, fishing pond, or the climbing tower.
Back to School = Back to Camping! Join other Cub Scout families in a relaxed, overnight campout at Camp Decorah. Always free for brand new registered Cub Scouts, this event is a great way to see Camp Decorah before the Spook-O-Ree and learn some of the many opportunities that Cub Scouting has to offer.
Scout Troops gather in each district for their District Camporee. Each Camporee is unique and will challenge a Troop with skill challenges like knot tying, starting a campfire, first aid or they can work on unique merit badges.
Scale the 60-foot climbing tower, travel down the zip line, or conquer the obstacles at the C.O.P.E. course. All these activities will challenge each individual while they develop confidence in themselves and trust in others. These are not just available during sumemr camp, but all year long.
Have you ever wanted to be just like Davy Crockett or William Tell? Camp Decorah offers you the opportunity at our Shooting Range. You can shoot a bb gun, handgun, rifle shotgun or archery at our facilty many times during the year.
Are you looking for that rustic get away? Camp Decorah has just what you are looking for. We offer cabin rentals to fit your group needs from an overnight stay or use of any of the facilities for the day.
Camp Decorah is a great training facility to conduct any trainings or group retreats. Trainings like Wilderness First Aid, Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation, Wood Badge, Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills, National Youth Leadership Training and many others during the year for youth and adults.
