Aviation Pilot Career Exploring combines exciting hands-on activities with aviation professionals. The La Crosse Regional Airport hosts a program that meets weekly from October - November!

2023 Topics included: 

  1.  Airplane control surfaces
  2. The six basic instruments of an airplane instrument/avionics panel.
  3.  Aviation Career Paths
  4.  Air Traffic Communications (ATC) using Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS)
  5. . Aeronautical sectional navigation activity.
  6. Colgan Air Services – Conduct Pre-Flight Inspection
  7. Basic airplane design
  8. Drone Flight

At the first session, you will receive the application packet which will include

  1. The Aviation Exploring Applicant Requirements 
     
  2. The Exploring Youth Application
     
  3. The Aviation Exploring Waiver 
     
  4. Envelope for payment of $75 Explorer Fee by check made out to BSA or pay by credit card at first session.

    Scholarships are available for families in financial need.  Please contact lead advisor to request this.
