Induction weekends provide newly elected candidates and those from 2025 the opportunity to begin their membership journey into the OA and our Lodge.
The Induction ceremony, called the Ordeal, is the first step toward full membership in the Order. During the experience …
candidates will be challenged by several tests. The entire experience is designed to teach significant values. All candidates for membership must complete the Ordeal.
All candidates will receive a letter with full details as to what is needed for that weekend.
Induction Weekend Ordeal Schedule
Friday
- 7:30 PM Registration begins at Dahl Dining Hall
- 8:00 PM Dinner in Dahl Dining Hall
- 9:30 PM Pre-Ordeal Ceremony
Saturday
- 8:30 AM Ordeal Service Projects Start
- 12:00 PM Lunch
- 3:30 PM Projects End, Shower and Cleanup Begins
- 4:00 PM Parent/Guest meeting in Dahl Dining Hall
- 4:30 PM ORDEAL CEREMONY
- 5:30 PM Dinner in Dahl Dining Hall (Distribution of books, patches, and additional information)
Current Ordeal members interested in Brotherhood will also have an opportunity to achieve full membership in the Order through Brotherhood.
After 6 months of service as an Ordeal member and fulfilling certain requirements, a member may take part in the Brotherhood ceremony, which places further emphasis on the ideals of Scouting and the Order. Completion of this ceremony signifies full membership in the Order.
